As promised, here are my pictures (and Paul's - I don't think he and my mate Jack got bored waiting for us to finish) from the Playtex Moonwalk. 15,000 of us walked through the streets of London in our bras and stumbed across the finish line exhausted and cold at around 4.30am. It was an excellent experience - but even today, my legs are still hating me for it. Thanks so much to everyone who sponsored me. Enjoy the pics!
This is the marquee where we sat, ate pasta, listened to music, and had a lengthy prerecorded speech by Prince Charles inflicted on us. We were divided up into three start times, so this is only a small representation of the 15,000 people who took part. Our big celebrity to kick the event off was Lorraine Kelly. Ooooh! |
Me before the walk. |
![]() Lots of women (and that one guy) were dressed as bunnies. |
![]() See? More bunnies. |
![]() You definitely didn't want to get stuck in front of these walkers. |
![]() More festive costumes. |
![]() Our teammate Karen has a handy Womble storage area. She did the full marathon (26 miles) and came in 6th. place over all! The madwoman then went on to run a 5 mile race the next day. |
![]() Teammate and fellow belly dancer Heather. |
![]() Aaaand we're off! |
![]() Good lord, the bunnies are multiplying. |
![]() As part of the several detours we had to take, we got to be the very first pedestrians to walk through this underpass. Woooooooo. |
![]() Tigers, I think. |
![]() Ah yes, you can tell which pictures were taken by Paul. |
![]() Okay, maybe not. This one was also taken by Paul. |
![]() More reflective walkers. |
Clowns? Little Orphan Annie? Scousers? |
![]() A view of fellow walkers from atop one of the bridges. |
![]() Me at around mile 5. Note I am still smiling. Note I didn't post any pics of me after mile 5. |
![]() My medal! |
