My name is Lisa, which is short for nothing and translates into "Lisa" in many foreign languages. I was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on a sunny Monday. My parents are still in Mississauga (a suburb of Toronto), and I always consider Ontario home. After many moves around Southern Ontario, a brief stint near Boston, and an 11 year stay in Montreal, I now call the UK home.
I spend my days working as a technical writer for Citrix. I write manuals for software that no one reads, but I'm okay with that.
9 facts:
- I am an only child. It was probably better that way.
- My first modem was 2400 baud. I'm old.
- I can play the guitar.
- I love buying shoes.
It's the only time I'll ever buy a size 4.
- I used to be vegetarian, but then I stopped.
- Americans think I'm English, Parisiens think I'm Quebecoise, and the English think I'm American. I am none of the above.
-
I'm of Japanese and Scottish ancestry.
- I'm allergic to cats, but not to dogs.
- I work with someone who is 45 minutes younger than me.
9 annoyances:
- People with affected accents.
- Supermarkets.
- Fad diets.
- Turbulent flights.
- People without children who use parent/child parking spots.
- Pretentious foodies. There's nothing wrong with a grilled cheese sandwich served on a piece of paper towel, alright? Alright.
- Bad customer service.
- Snobby mums.
9 loves:
- Paul, Jack, Mia, and Jasper.
- Good food, good wine, good friends. Combine.
- Travelling and exploring.
- Massages.
- Bubble baths and face masks.
- Trash telly, trashy mags. Oh yes.
- Long walks over rolling hills, preferably near the water.
- Home: here and abroad.
- There are many things that I find funny, but there are few things that actually make me laugh out loud. These are: The Simpsons, Father Ted, Bill Bryson's books, and pictures of people playing tennis.
